The Chili Cook-Off Returns to Perry County Community Fair on August 20, 2022

Jun 28, 2022

Amateur chefs from all over the Perry County Area will again sweat it out and compete in the annual chili cook-off to raise awareness and funds for the Perry County Literacy Council on August 20, 2022.

To beat the August heat, this year’s chili cook-off will take place earlier in the day – from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (In previous years, the event was held from 3-6 p.m.). Attendees and fair goers can sample hot, sweet, and spicy chilis for a 25-cent donation and vote for their favorites.

Prizes will be awarded for the Judges’ Choice and the People’s Choice for Best Chili, as well as for the Best Chili Cook-Off Booth at the end of the event. The Chili Cook-Off competitor that raises the most money before and during the cook-off will also receive a trophy.

There will be games & prizes for the entire family, with all the proceeds directly benefitting the Perry County Literacy Council.
